Gospel message of salvation is for all people. Every person has the opportunity to hear the Gospel in an understandable way. Those seeking are connected to a healthy Christian community where they can grow in their faith. Every Christian is equipped to share the Gospel in word and deed. Engaged Christians advance this common mission as a global community.
In order to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ on this global scale, LHM employs local staff and volunteers in more than 35 locations around the world to develop culturally-relevant programs and resources to reach the unchurched in more than 60 countries on six continents. Around the world, we strive to equip churches and laypeople with the resources they need to share the Gospel in their families, communities, and world.
Originally called the Lutheran Laymen's League (LLL) upon its formation in 1917, the organization was renamed the International Lutheran Laymen's League in 1972 to reflect its growing impact globally. Today, the Int'l LLL's business and financial affairs are overseen by a Board of Directors consisting of a chair, vice chair and 12 directors. The ministry of the organization is currently expressed through a wide range of Christ-centered outreach efforts under the name of Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM).
n 1930, the LLL made a commitment to fund one year of broadcasting a weekly national radio program to be called The Lutheran Hour®. The first program was broadcast Oct. 2, 1930 and continues on the air today, making it the world’s oldest continually broadcast Christ-centered radio program.
Our 10 Zone Presidents as well as several dozen Ambassadors are in LCMS Lutheran Churches all across Washington and Alaska.
The Lutheran Laymen's League throughout the United States and Canada is divided into regional districts, which support the mission of
Bringing Christ to the Nations—and the Nations to the Church.
The Lutheran Laymen's League (LLL) Members serve as important Ambassadors for distributing Lutheran Hour Ministry (LHM) products and setting up witnessing programs to equip congregations to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They are leaders in outreach in their congregations. They provide regional leadership by hosting Zone events, meeting with congregations and Pastors to encourage outreach, and representing Lutheran Hour Ministries at LCMS districts conferences and conventions.
Our District Board consists of an Executive board that includes a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. It also includes 10 Zone Presidents, and a Pastoral advisor. The board meets quarterly. Zone President roles are usually filled by those who have served as LHM Ambassadors.
Lutheran Hour Ministries' International Ministry Centers in more than 30 countries serve the needs of hurting people. Ministry center volunteers reach out to their neighbors and communities in culturally appropriate ways with the story of Jesus—sometimes at great personal risk. For more information, visit www.lhm.org/international or call 1-800-876-9880.Your support will help get the gospel message of Salvation by Christ alone into more countries around the world.
Would you like to be part of an international movement to reach people around the world with the message of Jesus Christ?
Through LHM's District Partnership Program individuals, congregations, LWML or LLL groups, and schools can partner in ministry worldwide by working directly with an LHM international ministry center.
LLL districts participating in this partnership program commit to supporting an LHM ministry center through prayer, volunteers, and financial gifts. Districts have the opportunity to choose from a variety of ministry center needs, allowing them to reach out with effective ministry to the people of that region.
Raise awareness of LHM resources and programs. Help equip your congregation to grow in their faith and share the gospel message with those around them.
All LHM Ambassadors receive:
Be blessed as you bless others.
Through partnering with congregations, we can help equip their members. In order to effectively facilitate those partnerships, we recruit members from the congregations to serve as LHM Ambassadors. Be blessed as you bless others.

Everything Lutherans believe comes from the Bible. It is God’s message of love and hope for all people. The Bible is the written Word of God, handed down to us in order to point us to the truth that we are saved from our sin and eternal death by the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We believe that the Bible is completely reliable and without error. In it we learn everything we need to know about God’s love and His gifts to us.
There is only one true God—the Triune God—who exists in three separate but equal Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God the Father is our Maker and the Creator of all things. There is only one true God—the Triune God—who exists in three separate but equal Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God the Father is our Maker and the Creator of all things. By the Father’s Word, all things were made, and we are His most beloved creation; we are closest to His heart. The Son is Jesus Christ, who came to earth as the perfect “go-between,” bridging God and humanity. He has redeemed us and pleads for us before the Father. The Holy Spirit calls us to believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior, keeps us in the one true faith, and equips us for living out our faith.
We all fall short of God’s expectations because we are all born “sinful.” Sin can be summed up as all the things we say, think, do, and don’t do that fall outside of God’s holy will for our lives and end up separating us from God. We all fall short of God’s expectations because we are all born “sinful.” Sin can be summed up as all the things we say, think, do, and don’t do that fall outside of God’s holy will for our lives and end up separating us from God. Sin was brought into the world when Satan lured the first people God created (Adam and Eve) into disobeying God through their own free will, breaking the perfect relationship between God and us. From that point on, sin became part of our very existence. Because God also demands perfect obedience, our ultimate punishment became death. Yet God is a loving God whose will is not for us to live in eternal punishment. That’s why He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to live the perfect life He requires and to become our substitute. Christ took our sin upon Himself and died on the cross, on our behalf. When we believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior, He bears our sin and gives us His forgiveness.
At LHM our mission is to bring Christ to the Nations and the Nations to the Church. We believe that everyone deserves to feel the love of God and our goal is to make that possible for as many people as we can. That Includes you!
Equip yourself to share the Gospel while you grow in your faith. Study God's Word yourself or with a friend or group. In this way you live out your Christian faith as you share the gospel in your neighborhood.
